FAQs

No. The Sportz Link must be attached to a truck tent at all times while in use.

The sleeve of the Sportz Link connects with hooks that snap around the vestibule pole of the truck tents.

Yes! The Sportz Link is compatible with both Sportz and Backroadz Truck Tents

Our tents already have a water-resistant coating on them. However, the coating may wear down over time and you may want to spray a water repellent coating onto the tent and rainfly after a few years of use.

A seam sealer is not necessary. Our rainflies and truck tent floors have taped seams to guard against water entry. For additional protection and product maintenance, you may wish to use a seam sealant on your tent. Please note that water drops through the needle holes along the seams is common with all tents and is not a manufacturer’s defect.

Game changer!

We have been camping the the truck for several years now, and the complaint was always having no place to change clothes and store totes. This add-on tent was a game changer. Two weeks to the Grand Canyon, Zion, Tetons, Badlands, and what a great time. We put a tarp under the tent to keep the dirt/sand off for ease of storage. HIGHLY recommend!

Easy to set up

Easy to set up as long as you follow directions and be somewhat gentle in the process, and attaches to the truck bed tent nicely. The zipper on the main door is a bit funky but once I figured out the trick it was fairly painless

Company warranty claim process woes

Love the idea of the tent. Not incredibly hard to setup. Provides plenty of space when paired with my Sportz truck bed tent. Problem arose upon my second setup of the tent. The brass grommit for the main pole pushed out of the strap it is sewn into. Additionally one section of the 2 main pole assemblies cracked. I normally would not give a poor review but, When submitting a warranty claim the company just never got back to me. Silence..........Reached out now a second time through their website and also took a screenshot of my message and sent to their orders email address. I hope they at least contact me.

Poles poor quality.

We were excited to go camping again as I’m a wheelchair user and the extra space seemed like a great idea. However, within two nights four poles cracked

An Extra room for your Camping!

Fairly easy to set up, Rain fly was a bit of challenge as tent was set up, but once I pulled my head out of . . . Well it went on fine and kept the inside nice and dry through a nice rain storm. Water did pool up inside the connector sleeve, but I didn't notice this until I was breaking the tent down. The extra room was a perfect sitting area, and kitchen throughout the trip. A great addition to a dedicated camp set up!

2500 ram fits great

I scoured a lot to try and find anyone saying that this fit well on a 3/4 ton truck. I did find one saying height was an issue. I'm stock height plus one inch and it wraps perfectly to the truck tent and tailgate. It took 20 minutes to assemble both tents without rain fly's. Its was very easy alone. Time will tell on rain making it in the joint to the lower tent but it looks like it won't leak. I would have bought the bigger SUV add on tent if it mentioned somewhere that it fit. I do wish it was twice the size but it will work fine.

Worth the $$

My husband and I have had the truck tent for years. We love it! Now we have a baby and want to take him camping too. This is a perfect extension, my husband loves that he can stand in it (6’1”). We will be able to fit a pack in play now.We usually camp with a lot of friends. So we are going to enjoy getting out of the truck into the extended tent rather that exposed to everyone right off the bat! We haven’t taken it out yet, but it arrived today and we put it up to check it out. Worth the $!And for those giving bad reviews because the truck portion wasn’t included, learn how to read. It clearly states this is only the extension of the tent

Big space addition for truck bed tent

This tent will give us a lot more room when attached to our truck bed tent. Now we'll have a place to stand when we dress, store stuff out of the weather and we can make and enjoy our morning coffee when it's too cold to go outside. Really, it's amazing how much room this adds.Initial setup was not easy because the poles are ridiculously long and the way the tent was initially folded made it hard for me to find the opposite corners. I folded it up differently when I stored it so hopefully I won't be as confused next time. The door is a bit fiddly but I think it's just a matter of practice. Here's some shots of it set up on my driveway. Great product and the vendor also did a great job packing and shipping it to me.

Room for large dog crate and more!

This Napier Linkz tent works great with our Napier truck tent. On our first trip, we had planned on bringing our Shitsu with us , which we did. But a couple of months before our trip, we acquired two Labrador pups. We brought them and their very large crate to sleep in . Plenty of room in the Linkz tent for the crate, a large tote, a doggie bed, and room for us to move in and out , get dressed, etc. I bought a canvas tarp to cover and protect the tent floor and make it a little softer. We are very happy with the setup. Recommended!!

Not rain proof

Tent not water proof due to big screens on the sides. It will not stop Horizontal rains because it doesn't have a rain fly covers for the side screens . Only the door screen has a zipped cover. The top cover doesn't help. I had a flood during a heavy rain storm. Came in through the side screens.

Perfect for our need

This tent has been perfect for camping adventures! We have a ‘95 Ford F150 with a basic camper shell and this tent fits perfectly off the back of the truck to give us extra space with our two large dogs. Even without the truck bed tent to connect to, there is minimal rigging needed to get it to stay in place as long as it’s in semi flat ground. For the price point, we were only expecting this to last a few uses, but we have used it 10+ times in the past year and it has continued to hold up. We did have one of the tent poles crack within the first couple uses, but we have still been able to use it as is.It’s super easy to setup, has kept us dry in a few rain storms, and packs up nicely into a storage bag for easy transport. Highly recommend!

It does not have a hole to run an extension cord outside. Need to run thru the door.

We love it! The tents connect together perfectly and are very easy to set up. This one that sits on the ground is tall enough to walk around, change clothes, etc. and has plenty of room to store all the gear. We put a fan in it, aimed toward the truck bed, to keep us cool at night.

Works as a small SUV hatch tent

I bought this to use as an SUV hatch tent.I have a 2017 Toyota Rav4 (so a smaller SUV) and it works PERFECT! All the other other decent SUV hatch tents are at least $150 more and much bigger and I wondered if I could make this work... and I can! I scooch the tent forward and put the hatch inside the tent body and it fits (doing it this way the hatch can't be fully extended up, but I'm short so that doesn't matter). The attachment flap isn't long enough on it's own to cover my full SUV hatch door, so scooted inside the tent it fits better, but you'll sacrifice some headroom. I have some heavy duty magnets to hold down the tent sides to my suv body where it curves and there is a gap. It's not perfect, but I camp solo all the time and I can set this up on my own in 5 min. It's easy to set up, roomy, and well made. Plenty of room inside for the portable dog crate for my 2 large dogs and my chair and table.I haven't taken it out yet, just set it up in the garage as soon as it arrived. I'm excited to take it out soon!
