Yes, the Backroadz SUV Tent and Sportz SUV Tents models 82000 & 84000 are compatible to use on trucks with caps as long as the height of the cap does not exceed 80”.
Yes. To ensure the best fit possible, we recommend our largest Sportz SUV Tent model #84000.
The universal vehicle sleeve has an elastic band at the end creating a custom fit to your vehicle. The adjustable wheel well and trunk straps ensure a snug fit to your vehicle and the fabric flaps on the inside of the sleeve help seal any minor gaps caused by a curvy vehicle.
Camping with Your SUV Tent
Yes. For the initial set-up however, we do recommend having assistance.
Yes! Many campers sleep inside their vehicle and use the tent for extra living or storage space, while others sleep in the tent itself. An SUV tent gives you the flexibility to camp your way.
When installed correctly, the vehicle attachment sleeve is designed to fit snugly around your vehicle, helping reduce gaps where insects could enter. While no fabric sleeve can create a completely airtight seal on every vehicle, proper installation provides excellent protection when paired with the tent's screened doors and windows.
Yes! The Sportz SUV tent lets you drive away while leaving your campsite set up. Simply unzip the vehicle sleeve and secure it using the sleeve wall panel.
The Backroadz SUV tent can also be detached, but its non-removable vehicle sleeve will hang from the tent. It still works, just looks a little less pretty.
We do not recommend running your vehicle while the tent is attached, as exhaust fumes can accumulate around the tent and create a serious carbon monoxide hazard. Always turn off your engine while camping and follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations for any idle or camping mode. If you have an EV, please consult your manufacturer's guide for more information.
